Herzog & de Meuron Set to Design Residential Skyscraper in Toronto ⇒ In collaboration with Quadrangle, the internationally acclaimed architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron developed the concept of designing an 87-story skyscraper in Toronto’s city center.

Herzog & de Meuron was established back in 1978 in Basel by dynamic duo Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. Over the years, the practice has worked a comprehensive range of astounding architecture projects, from private homes to urban design buildings, including museums, stadiums, and even hospitals. Now, the renowned architecture practice takes on another venture as they are set to design their first residential skyscraper in Toronto. In today’s article, PullCast Blog explores a bit about what this project will look like, especially in regards to its luxurious amenities.

In regards to what one can expect on each floor, the very first 16 floors will replace the site’s existing retail, office spaces, among other technical functions. Then, a private amenities level will be separating these floors from the other 64 condominiums levels. The three highest floors will be comprised of a generous restaurant and a sky lounge that will offer sweeping city views.

The 87-story residential skyscraper features a linear core at the western façade, which maximizes the usable area of the floorplate, the aspect over the bay street to the east, and simultaneously provides privacy from any adjacent development to the west.

As soon as residents enter the tower, they will be bestowed by a triple-height lobby from Bloor street. The rooms vary from one-bedroom to multi-level penthouses, totaling 332 condominium units spread over 64 floors as previously mentioned. One of the best features of these residences will be that they receive plenty of daylight through floor-to-ceiling operable windows with natural ventilation.
