Upon entrance, guests are welcomed in a grand hallway lined with two original staircases, both dusted with gold, and interesting globes serving as lighting fixtures. The tiled floor, the tasselled sofas and the vivid green plant arrangements take us back to ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’.
The hotel features 67 guests rooms which exude Southern elegance complemented by a few artsy decor pieces, thus creating a whimsical ambience perfect for relaxing and sleeping.
One of the common areas is the guest-only breakfast room which is lavishly decorated in shades of dark blue and peacock velvet. The walls almost look like painted tiles, or azulejos. There’s also a stunning living room decorated in shades red with the exception of beautiful pale green and dark blue seating options and extravagantly patterned rugs by Christopher Farr x Shamshiri.
“We wanted guests to feel exceptionally cared for and to be able to luxuriate in a private sanctuary that’s transcendent of trends in a distinct residential guest house,” says Kelly Sawdon, Atelier Ace’s chief brand officer.
Maison de la Luz is conveniently located next to the bold Bar Marilou, the first cocktail bar from Quixotic Projects in the USA, making it the best spot for the hotel guests to have a drink and relax during their stay.
