The Aquatics Center is the only permanent sports facility built for the 2024 Olympic Games, making it a standout venue. Designed by Schlaich Bergermann Partner, the center features a unique catenary roof and facade made of glue laminated timber (glulam). Connected to the Stade de France via footbridge, the Aquatics Centre can host 6,000 spectators. Its concave roof design reduces heating costs, embodying sustainability while being visually striking. The Pont Alexandre III, also inaugurated for the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition, is not a traditional sports venue, but its role in the 2024 Olympics is significant. Bound by four golden bronze statues, this beautiful bridge will connect the Grand Palais and Invalides Olympic venues. During the games, it will be lined with vibrant blue stands for spectators cheering on finishers of the individual cycling time trials, swimming marathons, triathlon, and para-triathlon races.
