The kaleidoscope, invented by a British scientist, became familiar to children as a toy in Japan since it was imported during the Edo era.  It was developed by incorporating Japanese paper, up to the point that it became a traditional craft. This kinetic spatial installation will comprise a three-dimensional origami kaleidoscope with reflective surfaces; a projector will shine light and colour onto this automated moving structure, surrounding the whole gallery with whimsical geometric patterns. Address: TOTO Concept Gallery, 140-142 St John Street London EC1V 4UA

Check Out The Famous Clerkenwell District During London Design FestivalSet in the atmospheric House of Detention, this Installation designed and created by WilkinsonEyre captures the architectural detail and form of their work delicately etched into transparent glass blocks. WilkinsonEyre draw inspiration from both art and science. Each project begins by exploring its context and programme without preconceptions. This context goes beyond the obvious physical nature of a site and its environs. The narrative and design of a project are also driven also by its history, function and social and cultural contributions.
